More about Sanyanth
As a child, he developed a rich and diverse taste in world music through the long car drives he took with his family. His early inductions to cultivating a diverse taste in music included Ennio Morricone, Yanni, Kishore Kumar, RD Burman, Ilayaraja, Sting, Eric Clapton, Bread, Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, AR Rahman, Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, Carpenters, and many more.
As most music aficionados do, Sanyanth too had a vintage rock phase during his college days. However, the turning point in Sanyanth’s life came about during his time in San Francisco and later in Colombia, where a special love for Classic Soul, Motown, Blues, and Latin music kindled within him. By this time he had also simultaneously started pursuing his other passion towards social good which manifested into a Master’s in Social Entrepreneurship degree at Hult International Business School. Sanyanth was nudged into pursuing a career in music by his then Turkish roommate Koray, whose advice of releasing one’s own music struck a chord with Sanyanth. This changed the track of Sanyanth’s life from being the nutcase hired to help foster and monitor innovation, research & design to being the nutcase who founded - Easy Wanderlings – that went on to become the soundtrack of the lives of the Indian millennials, and in its wake transformed the independent music scene in India.
The zany, vibrant, and infectious energy that one draws in from the soothing and soulful tunes of Easy Wanderlings, can be traced back to Sanyanth’s own energy which is embellished in the countless interactions he has with intrepid souls from across the world. A self-confessed old-soul, Sanyanth truly believes that a hands-on approach of working intimately with his fellow musicians is the secret sauce that brings the magic to their music.
